The historic Edison Courtyards in Berlin were constructed in 1880 as the production site for the first light bulb in Germany and operated until 1905.
Today, the ensemble consists of the modern seven-story gatehouse (built in 2012) and the listed factory courtyards comprising eight individual buildings arranged around a central courtyard, dating back to 1880. These were extensively refurbished between 2001 and 2004. They create a unique atmosphere with a distinctive loft and campus character. As part of the renovation, additional floors were added and the original brick façade was meticulously restored in keeping with its historic details.
